Privacy Policy

The short version

Spectral Notes is local-first. You can use it without an account, and your notes stay on your device. If you sign in, Spectral uses Supabase and Google sign-in so your notes can sync across devices.

We do not sell your data, run ads, or use your notes to train AI.

Information we handle

Without an account, Spectral stores your notes, tags, settings, and sync metadata locally on your device.

If you sign in, we handle account information from Google/Supabase, such as your account ID, email address, and profile image when Google provides one. We also store synced notes, tags, note state, archive or delete markers, and sync timestamps in Supabase for your account.

Spectral records a small set of production analytical events to improve our service. These events use a random anonymous ID and coarse platform information. They do not include note text, tag names, search text, note titles, or detailed note behavior.

Local storage and cookies

Spectral does not use advertising cookies. The app does use local browser or app storage for app data, session behavior, install prompts, preferences, and the limited anonymous event ID described above.

Why we use this information

We use this information to run the app, keep your local notes working, sync your notes when you choose to sign in, debug and secure the service, improve its quality, and support users who contact us.

Service providers

Spectral uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, sync, and limited service events. Google provides sign-in when you choose Google authentication. Cloudflare may serve the landing page and app assets.

Security and encryption

Sync uses HTTPS and Supabase account access controls. Spectral does not add end-to-end encryption on top of Supabase sync.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Synced account data remains in Supabase while your account is active unless you ask us to delete it or the service removes it under the Terms.
